frozen lake - photo by Dean

The next morning was a race for time. We had to catch flights on Monday evening at 7:45. We had a 4 hour drive to the airport and we were 10miles into the bush. We set our watch alarms for 6:00 so that we could get up and pack our stuff onto the sleds and leave by 8:00. We did real good.

At 7:00 sharp we were putting the dogs in front of the sleds. We left the tent and the camp set up because Jeff was bringing someone else out the next day.

For the trip back, I got to ride on the lead sled with Jeff. I was very happy about that because the night before, I had a nightmare about falling through the lake on the way home. Fortunately, the trip back was fast, beautiful and uneventful. The snow was packed really nice, the dogs were calm, and we were able to stop several times to take a few pictures.
