(Dean, Terri, Jay, Courtney)

We arose the next morning at 7:00 to eat breakfast and bathe. There wasn't a shower at the lodge. All bathing was done in a separate little cabin that was a sauna. Not the electric or gas types we have here at our prissy gyms we all belong to, but a real wood burning sauna. Inside the sauna were several containers of water. The hottest container was on top of the coals, the coldest was down on the floor and the ones on the benches remained rather warm.

We would each mix the waters to the temperature of our choice and pour it over our heads with a pail, wash our hair and "special places" then pour some more water to rinse off. It was very warm and steamy inside the sauna. Quite a contrast to the frozen tundra on the other side of the wall.
